Jib Set-Up & Demo Event Recap With Michael Della Polla

Jib Set-Up & Demo Event Recap With Michael Della Polla

This past Sunday, Indipro Tools and Teris USA hosted a hands-on gear demo that brought NYC’s creative community together under one roof. Filmmakers, camera operators, and production enthusiasts gathered at our Franklin Square location for an afternoon of learning, networking, and, of course, playing with some seriously powerful gear.

The Gear at the Center of It All

At the heart of the event was the Teris JQ50-III Mini Jib, paired with the DJI Ronin Expansion Base Kit and Ronin RS4. NYC Director of Photography Michael Della Polla walked attendees through real-world jib set-ups, sharing workflow tips, balance techniques, and production hacks that only come from years behind the camera.

But we didn’t stop at just the jib. Attendees got hands-on with a full advanced rig, including:

  • Camera & Stabilization: Sony A7III (with compatibility for A7IV, Canon R6, and similar models) mounted on the DJI RS4 Combo Gimbal with the DJI Ronin Expansion Pack.
  • Power Management: 4x Kratos 99Wh V-Mount Batteries with dual charger, D-Tap splitter cables, NP-F breakout box, and 2-pin LEMO connections — showing how to power cameras, monitors, and wireless accessories simultaneously.
  • Wireless Video: Hollyland Wireless Transmitter, Pyro 5 Receiver, and HDMI feed into the Atomos Sumo high-resolution monitor/recorder.
  • Mounting & Support: Magic Arms, V-Mount clamps, tripod accessories, and 35 lbs of counterweights to keep the system safe and stable.
  • The Jib & Tripod Kit: Teris JQ50-III Mini Jib with the TS120CF-Q Fluid Head & Tripod Kit, rolling spreader, and 100mm bowl mount for maximum stability.

Instead of sticking to a rigid script, the demo evolved naturally; questions flowed, side discussions sparked, and Michael dove into areas the group was most curious about. That flexibility made the learning more engaging and practical.

Want to Try It Yourself?

We used the Advanced Equipment Checklist during the event, but we’ve also created a Basic Equipment Checklist for those who are just getting started.

Use them as a quick reference to make sure your next shoot runs smoothly.

Beyond the Demo: Community in Action

Of course, it wasn’t just about the gear. Attendees enjoyed:

  • Giveaways — from useful accessories/swag bags to discounts that filmmakers could put right to work
  • Discounted & Open Box Gear Deals — guests walked away with new tools for their kits
  • Snacks & Refreshments — because great conversations happen over food
  • A First Look at Indipro’s Storefront — the event doubled as our soft opening, giving the community a peek at what’s to come

The Takeaway

What made this event special was the energy in the room. Attendees didn’t just watch a setup; they asked questions, tested gear, and connected with other creatives who share the same drive to tell stories visually.

It was a reminder that events like these aren’t just product demos. They’re community hubs, where filmmakers come to learn from pros, discover new tools, and leave inspired for their next project.

What’s Next?

We’re already planning more workshops and demos, but this time, we want to hear from you.
