I have two of these now, and they simply get the job done as claimed. Note that you'll want to make sure that the batteries have similar charge state, as this plate doesn't prevent "cross-charging" (current flow from a fresh/high-voltage battery to a dischanged/low-voltage one).

The Dual V-Mount Adapter Plates with D-taps to V-Mount Lock Plate enable you to power your camera, light, monitor, or accessory that has a V-mount plate with the use of two V-mount batteries. This hot-swappable plate allows for battery changes without disrupting your equipment. Additionally, the plate boasts two D-Tap outputs, providing 11 to 17 VDC power for extra accessories.
